Castle and chateau Jindřichův Hradec
The third largest complex in the Cxzech republic is the CASTLE AND CHATEAUlocated in the historical centre. Three dynasties lived in the premises in the course of centuries and they changed the castle up to its present appearance. The castle may be proud of precious paintings (the legend of St. George), wall paintings, unique black kitchen from the late medieval era. The most interesting building of the complex is a Renaissance roundel decorated with gold stucco. The whole castle is divided into three yards, while the second yard houses a castle fountain regularly talking with the visitors during night sightseeing tours with the White Lady.
Just next to the castle there can be found the manor brewery and the castle milling house offering an exhibition of tapestries and Křižík's water power stations.
MUSEUM in Jindřichův Hradec
It can be found in the building of former Jesuit seminar. It was established in 1882 and thanks to its exhibits it won the hearts of many tourists. There can be found extensive collections of paintings, Gothic sculptures, an exhibition of watches and gulds. The opoera fans will be interested in the hall of Ema Destinnová. Christmas atmosphere in summer may be established thanks to Krýza's crib - the largest folk mechanical Christmas crib in the world.
Romantic Červená Lhota castle (18 km from J. Hradec)
The castle of Červená Lhota may be proud of its rich history and mainly its location. It can be found on a rock, surrounded by a gloss water level. Many tourists visit the castle and there are organised very popular sightseeing tours explaining the legends and stories of the castle. Swans are frequent visitors of the water level and tourists pass by them on small rented boats.
Landštejn castle ruin (25 km from J. Hradec)
The ruin ranks among those best preserved in our country. It was used as a military castle fortress on the border of Bohemia, Moravia and Austria. The castle is accessible for the public without guides. An exhibition of medieval weapons may be found in the castle premises.
